Job Title: Middle School STEM and Robotics Teacher

Job Type: Full Time

Reports to: Head of School

School Overview: 
Canton Country Day School, established in 1964, serves children from PK-8th grade as an independent, day school. The school aims to provide an excellent academic education while empowering children to become independent, creative, empathetic life-long learners who will build a better world.

Position Description: 
Canton Country Day School is seeking an outstanding middle school STEM teacher to join our faculty. This position includes a responsibility to teach and guide students in science, technology, engineering, and math. In addition to the core STEM duties, the position is also responsible for a Robotics course. You will need to develop and implement curricula and lesson plans with other teachers and create activities that will encourage students to think creatively and critically. Additionally, you will collect, maintain, and update records of student progress throughout the school year.

Responsibilities & Duties:
Develop STEM and Robotics curricula and create lesson plans that incorporate technology and computer software
Teach and guide students in the specialized subject matter in science, technology, engineering, and math, robotics
Motivate and engage students in hands-on learning activities
Implement classroom activities designed to encourage students to think creatively and critically
Monitor and evaluate student progress and provide feedback to each student
Identify student’s strengths and areas of improvement
Assign homework and grade student projects, tests, assignments, and exams
Collect, maintain, and update records of student progress throughout the school year
Provide students with social and emotional support
Provide a wide range of hands-on materials, technological applications, and resources
Regularly communicate with parents

STEM/Robotics Teacher Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (science, technology, engineering, math)
Experience with Robotics preferred
State teaching license in the corresponding field
Knowledge of STEM curricula and best practices
Proficiency with technology
Outstanding communication and collaboration skills
Problem-solving skills
Empathy and emotional intelligence
Classroom management skills
Flexibility and adaptability

Requirements:
BCI fingerprint & drug testing upon hire
Clear background check and driving record

Salary:
Pay: Depending on experience

Job Title: Third Grade Classroom Teacher

Canton Country Day School is seeking an outstanding third grade classroom teacher to join our faculty. This position includes a responsibility to teach and guide students in basic early elementary classroom curriculum. In addition to the core duties, the position is also responsible for working with co-curricular teachers forming integrated PBL projects. You will need to develop and implement curricula and lesson plans with other teachers and create activities that will encourage students to think creatively and critically. Additionally, you will collect, maintain, and update records of student progress throughout the school year.

Responsibilities & Duties:
Develop lesson plans that incorporate best practices for learning and assessment
Teach and guide students in assorted subjects including English, Social Studies, and Math
Motivate and engage students in hands-on learning activities
Implement classroom activities designed to encourage students to think creatively and critically
Monitor and evaluate student progress and provide feedback to each student
Identify student’s strengths and areas of improvement
Assign homework and grade student projects, tests, assignments, and exams
Collect, maintain, and update records of student progress throughout the school year
Provide students with social and emotional support
Provide a wide range of hands-on materials, technological applications, and resources

Third Grade Teacher Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education
State teaching license in the corresponding field

Classroom management skills
Flexibility and adaptability
