This year marks Brandon’s twelfth year of teaching at the middle school level. He grew up in Brewster, Ohio in southwest Stark County and obtained his Bachelors of Education at the University of Akron. Upon graduation, he taught for five years in South Carolina at the sixth and seventh grade level. At this time, he worked with Winthrop University on his Educational Leadership degree. In 2011, he had the opportunity to move back to Ohio and help open a brand new, high-performing charter school in Cleveland. Over the next six years, this school became very well-known for preparing students to attend rigorous high school programs in the area.
Now that he’s here at CCDS, he feels as if he has found a long-term home. He’s working hard to make sure that the math program is continuously growing and assessing how our school can best prepare our students to be lifelong learners in math. He has stated that the CCDS community has been incredibly welcoming and has expressed gratitude at having the opportunity to work with such amazing students and families.
