 | Grade 3 - The United States Song 5/10/2012 Mrs. Murphy's third grade class got a jump on learning all of the states. This is important information for next year's fourth grade's "regions" curriculum. This study includes a 6 week integrated research project with a focus on the study of the five U.S. regions. This research included the cross-curricular study integrating the social studies, language arts, math, science, reading, research, art, drama, music, and technology.
Learning the names of the states was a surprise for Mrs. Bragg.

WeDo Robotics Expo 4/18/2012 CCDS' Robotics Programs are the best! Many parents attended the "Expo" this week and learned all about this educational program. The Lego Education WeDo system was designed specifically to bring the fun and challenge of robotics to students in grades 2 and 3. Team members built LEGO models featuring working motors and sensors, programed their models with colorful, visual software designed just for kids, and explored a series of cross-curricular, theme-based activities while developing their skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, as well as language and literacy. CCDS Library needs your help! 12/2/2010
Hello CCDS Parents,
The Canton Country Day School Library is a vital and interactive center for student learning. Students flourish in this literary, information, and technology rich environment. The library program empowers students to be skillful researchers, critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers and ethical users of information.
The library has added many exciting new classes with the goal of enhancing 21st century literary and research skills. Middle school research and technology classes were implemented last year. This year we have already added a sixth grade elective and a fifth grade book club, plus technology classes for pre-k, kindergarten, second, and third grades. A middle school Manga club is in the works. We are committed to continuing to implement new and exciting ways to empower your children to be lifelong learners.
The CCDS library needs your help. Expanding the scope and services of our library takes a great deal of time to research and plan, develop a supportive collection, and create exciting lessons. This is where we need your help. Please try to find just an hour a week to help shelve and repair books, enter and cover new items, clean and organize shelves, and help students check in and out materials – all the tasks that contribute to a successful library. If you can help, please contact me at 330-453-8279 Ext 123 or smongold@cantoncountryday.org.
Thank you,
Mrs. Mongold
